A remote online notarization (RON) is the act of performing a notarization remotely using two-way audio-visual technology. It is the online equivalent of an in-person, paper-based notarization where every part of the process is done via the Internet. Yes! Remote online notarization is legal in most U.S. states, although each state has its own regulations and requirements. You should verify if RON is permitted in your state before proceeding.
To participate in remote online notarization, you will need a device with a camera and microphone (such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone), a stable internet connection, and access to the our secure online platform, BlueNotary.

The time it takes to notarize a document depends on the complexity of the notarization and the number of documents to be notarized. We work efficiently to ensure that all documents are notarized in a timely manner. If you would like your session to take less time, please send your documents immediately upon booking your appointment so that we can ensure the documents are complete and ready to be signed at the time of your appointment.

You will need to present a government-issued ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license) to the notary via out video platform, BlueNotary. This platform also uses identity verification tools, such as knowledge-based authentication (KBA) questions, to further confirm your identity.
Yes, as long as the documents can be notarized by the same notary and are in the same language, multiple documents can be notarized during the same remote session.
After the notarization session, you will receive an email to download a digital copy of the notarized document(s). If you would like a hard copy of the document(s) mailed to you, we are happy to provide that service for an additional fee.
